My Favorite Traditional Festival
Yay, it's time for Chinese New Year! This is my absolute favorite festival of the whole year. I love everything about it – the decorations, the food, the fireworks, and most of all, the fun traditions we get to do with my family.
First of all, the decorations for Chinese New Year are so pretty and festive. My mom hangs up red lanterns and paper cut-outs all around our house. She also puts up banners with messages like \"Fortune\" and \"Happiness\" written on them in beautiful Chinese calligraphy. I help decorate too by making my own paper cut-outs of animals and flowers. Everything is red and gold, which are lucky colors.
Next, the food for Chinese New Year is just delicious! My grandma always makes the most amazing dumplings stuffed with pork and veggies. She lets me help fold the dumplings into cute little packages. We also have a huge feast with all kinds of tasty dishes like whole steamed fish, noodles for long life, and
sweet rice balls. My favorite part is when we kids get red envelopes filled with money from the grown-ups. I always save my red envelope money to buy something really special.
Another thing I love about Chinese New Year is watching the amazing fireworks displays. The night before New Year's Day, everybody in my neighborhood sets off these incredible fireworks that light up the whole sky. The booming sounds and bright colors are so exciting! My dad lets me light some small fireworks too, but I have to be very careful. Fireworks are fun but also a little bit dangerous.
One of the most meaningful traditions is the annual reunion dinner on New Year's Eve. My whole extended family gets together to share a huge banquet meal. We kids get to stay up way past our bedtimes! After dinner, we give thanks and usher in the new year by bowing to the elders and wishing them good luck and prosperity. My grandparents always give us their special New Year's blessings too.
On the first day of the new year, we wake up early to watch the annual TV show starring our favorite movie stars and pop singers. It's become a tradition for my siblings and cousins and me. We play games, eat snacks, and just chill out together while
enjoying the show. Mom says it's a relaxing way to start the year after so much preparation.
Another fun New Year's tradition is giving and receiving little gilt-wrapped packages. Inside might be candy, toys, or lucky charms like coins or figurines. I always look forward to the surprises! Sometimes my aunts and uncles give me traditional red envelopes with money instead. Either way, it feels like getting a special gift.
Last but definitely not least, the absolute best part of Chinese New Year for me is spending time with my huge and loving family. We don't get to see our relatives very much during the rest of the year because everybody is so busy. But during this special holiday, we get to be together, eat amazing food, play games, catch up, and just enjoy each other's company. Those happy family moments are what make Chinese New Year truly magical for me, year after year!

My Favorite Traditional Festival
Oh boy, do I love festivals! They are the best days of the year for me. With all the fun activities, yummy food, and time off from school, what's not to love? But you know what my absolute
favorite festival is? The Mid-Autumn Festival! It's a really old Chinese tradition that we celebrate every year.
The Mid-Autumn Festival always happens in the fall when the moon is at its roundest and brightest in the sky. My parents tell me it's to celebrate the autumn harvest, but I don't really care about all that. I'm just excited for all the cool stuff we get to do! The number one best part of the festival is definitely the mooncakes! Mmm, those sweet and delicious pastries filled with lotus seed paste or egg yolks. I can't get enough of them! Every

My Favorite Holiday Is Chinese New Year!
Yay, Chinese New Year is my most favorite day of the whole year! It's the best holiday ever. I love everything about it - the yummy food, the pretty decorations, the fun traditions, and spending quality time with my family. Let me tell you all about it! Chinese New Year isn't just a one day celebration, it actually lasts for 15 days! The festivities start on New Year's Eve and go all the way until the 15th day of the new year with the Lantern Festival. On New Year's Eve, my whole family gathers together for a huge feast called the Reunion Dinner. My mom and grandma spend days cooking lots of delicious dishes like
dumplings, noodles, fish, and my favorite - Nian Gao which is a sticky sweet rice cake. We eat until our bellies are totally full! After our big meal, the real fun begins! First, we give the kids red envelopes filled with money called \"hongbao.\" Getting hongbao is awesome - it's like an early birthday present! Then we set off firecrackers and fireworks to scare away any bad luck or evil spirits from the past year. The loud popping sounds and bright colors lighting up the night sky are so exciting. My cousin and I love running around trying to set off as many firecrackers as we can.
The next morning, I wake up eager to open my hongbao money and eat more yummy New Year's snacks. But before anything fun, we have to GET DRESSED! I love wearing my new festive clothes - a bright red top with black pants and shiny shoes. The red color is very lucky. My grandparents give me a crisp 20 bill to put in my pocket for even MORE good luck and fortune in the new year. With my lucky clothes and lucky money, I'm ready to celebrate!
One of my favorite traditions is paying respect to our ancestors. We burn incense and leave offerings of food, drinks, and fake money made from bamboo at the family altar or graves. This ensures our ancestors' spirits will bless us with good fortune
in return. My grandpa always makes me laugh doing this silly tradition where we throw handfuls of seeds around the house. It's supposed to symbolize spreading wealth and prosperity everywhere.
No Chinese New Year would be complete without the iconic red decorations! My aunties spend weeks hanging up bright red lanterns, cutting out paper decorations of upside-down fu symbols (which means good luck and fortune will arrive), and sticking red diamond shapes on the windows and doors. Everything looks so vibrant and festive. I love all the shimmery gold accents too.
On the fifteenth and final day, we celebrate the Lantern Festival! We eat sweet rice ball soup and take the beautiful lanterns we made to the park for an evening parade. Seeing all the creative lantern designs light up in the dark is magical. As the end of the new year celebrations, it's a little sad. But I know in just one year's time, the joyful Chinese New Year festivities will come around again! I can't wait.

My Favorite Traditional Holiday
Yay! It's time to talk about my absolute favorite day of the whole year – the Spring Festival! This celebration is the biggest and most amazing traditional holiday we have in China. I get so excited just thinking about all the fun things we get to do. First of all, the Spring Festival means no school for a couple of weeks! Woo-hoo! No teachers, no homework, no waking up early. Just sleeping in late, playing video games, and having a total blast. Every kid's dream, right? My mom lets me stay up way later than normal too. Sometimes I even get to sleep over at my cousin's house. We have epic pillow fights and eat tons of junk food. Ah, the life!
But that's not even the best part of the Spring Festival. The coolest thing has to be all the magical rituals and traditions we do as a family. A few days before the big celebration, we clean our entire house from top to bottom. My brother and I have to help out, which is kind of a bummer. But Mom says it's to sweep away any bad luck and make room for incoming happiness and prosperity. Makes sense to me!
Then on New Year's Eve, we have a humongous feast with ALL my favorite foods. I'm talking dumplings, noodles, fish, you name it. We stuff ourselves so full, I'm pretty sure I look like a balloon by the end of the night. But it's worth it because the food
is delicious! After dinner, I get to stay up way past bedtime. We watch TV and set off firecrackers in the street with our neighbors until the wee hours. So. Much. Fun.
As amazing as New Year's Eve is, New Year's Day might just be the best part. Bright and early in the morning, my parents wake me and my brother up by shoving warm red envelopes filled with crisp bills in our faces. JACKPOT! We scramble to see who got more money. My grandparents always slip in a few extra dollars for us too. With our fresh cash, we get to pick out new toys and games and video games at the store. It's like an extra birthday!
Later in the morning, the whole extended family gathers at my grandma's house. All my aunts, uncles, and cousins come from near and far. The amount of food is simply mind-boggling. Grandma makes insanely good dumplings and her famous noodles with roasted chicken. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water like a river! We little cousins play games and trade toys and money while the adults chat and watch TV.
Oh, and I can't forget – at night we sometimes get to watch the massive fireworks shows that seem to go on forever! Vibrant bursts of colors exploding across the sky, showering down shimmering sparks. Mesmerizing patterns of light blinking on
and off. Deafening booms and crackles. I stare up at the
spectacle with my eyes and mouth wide open, hardly blinking so I don't miss a second. The fireworks make the Spring Festival feel just as epic and magical as it truly is in my heart.

My Most Favorite Holiday Ever!
Christmas is my number one favoritest holiday of all time! I love Christmas so much because it's the most fun, exciting, and happiest day of the whole year. There are so many awesome things about Christmas that make it the bestestest.
First of all, Christmas is when you get to decorate a huge, tall tree with the most prettiest ornaments, tinsel, and lights. Our tree always looks so sparkly and beautiful. My brother and I have our own special ornaments we put on the tree every year. Mine is a little reindeer that plays jingle bells when you press its tummy. Decorating the tree with my family is one of the funnest Christmas traditions ever.
Another thing I love about Christmas is all the yummy treats! My mom makes the most delicious Christmas cookies with frosting and sprinkles. I could eat a million of those sweet, sugary cookies if I was allowed. And don't even get me started on the
hot chocolate! With tiny marshmallows floating on top, it's like drinking a warm, chocolatey cloud. Mmmmm, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!
Speaking of yummy stuff, Christmas dinner is always so good too. We have a big turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy and cranberry sauce and rolls. Then for dessert it's pie - pumpkin and pecan, my two favorites! I stuff myself so full, I can barely move after dinner. But it's totally worth feeling like a stuffed pig on Christmas because the food is just too tasty to resist.
Presents are definitely the number one best part of
Christmas though. I love getting new toys and games and books and clothes and all sorts of fun stuff under the tree on Christmas morning. My parents always wrap the gifts in the brightest, shiniest paper with bows and ribbons everywhere. It's like a million miniature presents just waiting to be unwrapped and played with! Last year I got my favorite gift ever - a giant Lego set to build a whole castle with knights and a dragon and everything. It took me forever to put it all together but it was so much fun.
Christmas just wouldn't be the same without Santa Claus too. Leaving out milk and cookies for him on Christmas Eve is one of
my favorite traditions. I try so hard to stay awake and wait up to see if I can catch a glimpse of him. But I always seem to fall asleep before he comes down the chimney. Somehow those cookies are still always eaten and the presents are all there under the tree in the morning though! Santa must be really quick and sneaky.
So yeah, Christmas is 100% without a doubt my favoritest holiday ever. From the tree to the treats to the presents to Santa, everything about it is just pure awesomeness. Whenever Christmas finally rolls around each year, I get so unbelievably excited and happy. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year for a kid like me. I wish Christmas could come more than just once a year because one day celebrating my favorite holiday is never enough! I love Christmas forever and always.
