教学目标:
  描述过去,学习各种时期的交通工具。
知识和能力目标:
1. introduce the concept of situation that started in the past and are continuing in the present.
2. introduce the grammatical concept of the present perfect tense by focusing on timeline and ordering information , 
过程和体验:
what did eddie do?
how has eddie changed ?
how has hobo changed?
how is the transport in the past in hong kong?
use the timeline to describe the transport in the past.
情感、态度和价值观:
1、to develop students to look at the same thing in many ways.(培养学生同一事物不同看法。)
2、to develop students' ability to classify what they have learned.(培养对所学知识分类能力。)

1、 词汇 
past  过去;往事                         present  现在
light rail 轻轨                             ferry 渡船
tram 有轨电车                             since 自……以来
in the bowl 在碗里                         an hour ago 一小时前
play with 和……玩                         peak tram 观光缆车
2、 句型:
 have you seen my food?
 i’ve  just eaten it.
 i don’t want to play with you any more.
课时安排:1课时
教学过程设计:
step 1. warm-up
give students enough time to make sense of the comic strip.
hobo found no food.——eddie has eaten it .-------- hobo was angry.-------- eddie was angry ,too.
step 2.  questions about pictures.
what did eddie do?
why did he do so?
how has eddie changed ?
how has hobo changed?
then check the answers to these questions。
step 3. listen and repeat
listen to the talk between hobo and eddie , then ask students to listen and repeat .finally ask the students to act it.
step 4.welcome to the unit
1. revise as many words as possible about transport.
2. read the context of part a and expand to create interest. link it to personal experiences and talk about the usefulness, convenience and efficiency of different modes of travel.
