Institute of High PerformanceComputingcoveries!Powering Dis Powering Discoveries!The Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) was established in April 1998 to provide leadership in high performance computing as a strategic resource for scientific inquiry and industry development.Its mission is to advance science and technology, and develop leading edge applications through high performance computing and computational science. Supported by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research through its Science and Engineering Research Council, IHPC seeks to power discoveries and support innovative, leading-edge research through the use of advanced methodologies, techniques and new tools in modelling, simulation and visualisation. There are 5 research departments in IHPC. It is a mechanism to provide opportunities and incentives for junior IHPC researchers to grow and excel through the development and pursuit of a fully independent scientific research programme and to attain high visibility and international recognition in the scientific and/or engineering research community. To achieve this goal, the I³ Department awards intramural funding to support scientist-defined and -led original research projects within the scope of high performance computing and computational science/engineering.
